The world’s leading trade fair for Technology for Meat and Alternative Proteins, IFFA, is set to take place from 3 – 8 May 2025 in Frankfurt, Germany. IFFA brings the protein industry together every three years and is the mirror of the industry, where innovations are presented and a wide-ranging programme of events, consisting of IFFA Kitchen, IFFA Factory and Discovery Tours, rounds off the fair. IFFA offers a unique opportunity to connect with industry leaders, experts, and innovators while exploring groundbreaking technologies, trends, and solutions that shape the future of protein production. The trade fair serves as the industry’s ultimate gathering point, years to provide a comprehensive, 360-degree view of the protein industry.
What makes IFFA so special is that it shows the entire journey of the ‘protein on our plate’ – starting with the raw materials and spices, through processing and packaging, to sale at the counter, regardless of whether it is meat or alternative protein. For some time now, exhibitors have been bringing solutions for alternative proteins to the fair, and this year IFFA is dedicating a separate area to them in Hall 11.0: the World of New Proteins. Beyond Hall 11.0, alternative protein-related products can be found throughout the fair.
The World of New Proteins will be a key area for exploring the next generation of protein solutions. In the field of plant-based and cell-cultured proteins, the trade fair is of interest to anyone who is professionally involved in the development, production and distribution of these products. These can be food companies, but also start-ups, medium-sized companies, craft enterprises and universities. Navigating a trade fair of this scale can be challenging, but IFFA provides solutions. With the Special Interest search criterion in the exhibitor search, visitors can quickly identify manufactures that align with specific interests, such as ‘Alternative Proteins’. Whether searching for cutting-edge machinery, new protein sources, or innovative packaging solutions, the online exhibitor directory offers direct access to establish valuable business relations.
For the event programme, IFFA is working closely with our partners BalPro, Proveg and GFI to create meeting places and opportunities for knowledge transfer in Hall 11.0. One highlight will be IFFA Kitchen, which is a must for anyone interested in innovative solutions in the new proteins segment. New products will be presented and prepared during the live cooking events, and samples will be offered. In addition, there will be a high-grade lecture programme with valuable insights from industry-leading experts, research pioneers, and trendsetters on nutritional trends, product development, and technological advancements. The IFFA Factory is dedicated to the topic of ‘Skilled labour shortage’. A central presentation area offers lectures and panels throughout the day, supplemented by daily live shows in which exhibits are presented in a practical way. In direct dialogue with experts, the audience can find out which solutions are already available today and which technologies will shape the future. The World of New Proteins, like the other Worlds, will have its own Discovery Tours with recognised experts who will guide participants through the respective topic area and present individual innovations.
The transformation of the protein industry will be on full display in Frankfurt from 3 – 8 May, 2025. Be part of the movement shaping the future of protein.
